Lydia Ko once again returned to New Zealand to compete in the ISPS Handa, New Zealand Women's Open and in a repeat of 2015, left with the trophy as well.
Ko may have been slightly shaken up as a 5.9 earthquake hit Christchurch just as she was about to tee off, but remained calm to show it will take more than that to stop her taking out the title.
Leading by a convincing two stroke margin made the walk down a packed out 18th hole far more enjoyable for the world's best. Ko then stiffed her approach shot to send the crowd into booming roars that echoed across the picturesque final hole.
Ko got emotional mentioning the late Patsy Hankins in her acceptance speech and was thankful for all the support New Zealand Golf and the public have given her over a short and fruitful career. She then donated her winnings to New Zealand Golf and is aiming to help out junior golf in the country where she can.
