HERE WE KO AGAIN!
The ISPS Handa NZ Women's Open hosted by Christchurch was once again a fantastic event in the Garden City.
The tournament, which is the largest women's sporting event in New Zealand, attracted a world-class field headlined by World No.4 Lydia Ko.
The defending champion was laid low by a stomach bug and showed incredible character and fight to stay in contention.
In the end, after a brilliant clutch biride on the 17th, Ko missed out on a playoff with South Korean professional Mi Hyang Lee by only one stroke.
Lee, who is playing in her second year on the LPGA Tour, was superb in the final round as she carded a nine-under par 63 to break the course record and win her first title.
Many South Koreans have threatened to claim the title but Lee was the first breakthrough winner and she did it in style.
The 2014 ISPS Handa NZ Women's Open hosted by Christchurch added another great chapter to the short but successful history of the tournament.
We look forward to returning to the Clearwater Golf Club in 2015 as the National Women's Open goes from strength to strength in Christchurch.
